Every year in mid-June, Maine Audubon’s Gilsland Farm exhibits hundreds of peonies growing “wild” in the fields and woods on the property. The peonies are descendants of those planted by David Moulton, a dedicated conservationist who in 1911 bought the property as a summer retreat and named it Gilsland Farm. Fields of cultivated peonies no longer exist at Gilsland Farm, but descendants from their root stock still bloom every year in both formal and informal settings. Don’t miss the opportunity to witness this spectacular annual event! This is an informal event for artists interested in building camaraderie through a plein air opportunity. Please note no formal instruction will be provided, so there is no fee.
